Walt Disney World offers first-class accommodations, specialty restaurants, 4 amusement parks, and 2 water parks. But what makes it so special is the air of excitement and Disney magic all around.

7. Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

One of the most romantic summer beach honeymoons to experience New England charm in the Northeast is a magical island-hopping retreat to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket islands off Cape Cod, Massachusetts’ coast. It’ll feel like walking into a postcard once you step off the ferry. Both islands balance a slow way of life with plenty of ways to stay entertained.

Reserve a table at Galley Beach Restaurant for a romantic dinner on Nantucket. It is right on the beach with an idyllic view of the sunset. Order some bubbly, and toast to your new life together as the sun goes down!  On Nantucket, catch a sunset at Madaket Beach and stroll through the charming town of ‘Sconset. Some of the best things to do on Martha’s Vineyard are visiting the adorable gingerbread cottages in Oak Bluffs, exploring the quaint Edgartown, and walking out to Edgartown Lighthouse.

While on Martha’s Vineyard, plan an afternoon drive out to the cliffs in Aquinnah. It is one of the most stunning parts of the entire island. The best way to get to both islands is to fly into Boston Logan International Airport. Then drive to Hyannis on Cape Cod. From there, use the Hyline Cruises ferry to get to both islands, including the inter-island ferry.

Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard are typically some of the more expensive places to visit in the Northeast, especially in the summer, so prepare to spend between $300-$400 per night on moderate hotels. However, these islands are home to some of the best resorts in the region, so a splurge at the Wauwinet on Nantucket, and the Harbor View Hotel on Martha’s Vineyard, are worth it for this extraordinary occasion! ~ Samantha Hamilton, New England Wanderlust (photo below)

8. Miami, Florida

Without a doubt, one of the best places to honeymoon in the U.S. is Miami. At the southern end of Florida, Miami offers many experiences for couples to enjoy. Whether going to a famous beach or nightlife venue, there’s plenty to do regardless if your trip is extended or a couple of days. For costs, you can expect to spend $100-200 per person per day, including accommodations, food, and transport.

Stay at citizenM Miami Bricknell, which has a bar and pool for cooling off. If you’re looking for budget accommodations, you can stay slightly out of the center, such as at Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables, to save.

This is the ideal city for urban enthusiasts as Miami offers a blend of cosmopolitan activities and cultural diversity. Between trendy neighborhoods like Wynwood and the vibrant Design District, Miami’s urban landscape is full of exciting activities. If you’re looking for a walkable city where you can celebrate your nuptials, Savannah, Georgia, is one of the quintessential honeymoon destinations in the US. It’s perfect for foodies, history buffs, and architecture lovers. Fall is the best time to visit due to the crisp air, sunny weather, and plethora of fun fall activities.

Finally, if you visit during December, you can enjoy the city all decked out in its holiday best. Avoid the summertime due to the uncomfortably high heat and humidity. Trust me, it’s hot!

Two must-see attractions include the stunning Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and Bonaventure Cemetery, which people often regard as one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world. Be sure to take a romantic stroll through Forsyth Park. Afterward, relax on a bench in one of the squares throughout the Historic District. Other popular restaurants include Common Thread, Brochu’s Family Tradition, Alligator Soul, and The Olde Pink House. The most romantic section of the city is the southern portion of the Historic District. It has a plethora of great restaurants, craft breweries, beaches, and a quaint downtown area. You can even plan your honeymoon during one of the festivals or special events throughout the year.

Hiking in Glacier National Park is breathtaking, and Avalanche Lake is one of the best hikes in the park. Start your hike at the Trail of the Cedars, and follow the path by Avalanche Creek. When you get to the lake, you’ll see why everyone talks about it – it’s beautiful! A quick tip: If you want to avoid a lot of people at Avalanche Lake, start your hike early in the morning.

The park also offers a lot of other outdoor activities. Try kayaking on Lake McDonald or white water rafting. Another option is driving the Going-to-the-Sun Road to see if you can spot some local wildlife. After a long day of adventuring, head to Many Glacier Hotel. This luxury hotel is charming and historic, and the views are stunning!

A honeymoon in Glacier National Park is relatively inexpensive. However, it varies based on the cost of flights and where you choose to stay. Additionally, a summer honeymoon is ideal, as the park can get very cold in winter. Plus, large sections of the park are closed down in the cold weather. Honeymooning in or near a park really affords so many opportunities for adventurous couples to get their fix. ~ Janae, Adventures With TuckNae

22. Denver, Colorado

Denver, Colorado, is a honeymooner’s paradise, especially for foodies who love the outdoors. Not only are there incredible views of the mountains, but the city is lively and thriving. When planning a trip, fly into the Denver airport, located just 30 minutes from downtown. If you choose not to rent a car, there is a train from the airport straight to Union Station in the heart of the city.

One of our favorite spots to stay downtown is The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block. These accommodations are right above the Milk Market, a favorite spot to get food and drinks in the city. Rooms start in the low $200s and go up in price from there, so they have rooms for almost any budget.

You can spend your days hiking at local parks like Red Rocks Amphitheater or drive out to Rocky Mountain National Park. There are many unique places to eat around the city for culinary lovers to get their fix. From sushi to burgers to steakhouses and more, anything you could want is just a short walk away. Our top pick is D’Corozon, a local Mexican restaurant serving delicious food at cheap prices!

Denver is also known for its beer. So, there are plenty of breweries and beer gardens downtown and around the city. Be sure to grab a local beer while you’re in town! ~ KP, Delightfully Denver

23. San Diego, California

For those looking to honeymoon on the West Coast, arguably one of the best destinations is San Diego, California. One of the great things about the city is that it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re an outdoorsy couple looking to explore nature or a more low-key couple seeking a relaxing beach escape, this city fits the bill. For example, with all the beautiful beaches the city is renowned for, couples can partake in an array of activities. Enjoy swimming, surfing, or simply lounging around with a good book. Alternatively, you can go on a wine-tasting excursion in nearby vineyards for a laid-back yet romantic adventure. They offer the perfect escape from the noise of the city. And to perfectly cap off your day, head over to Sunset Cliffs. It’s the best place in San Diego to catch stunning views as the sun dips below the ocean horizon.

In terms of cost, a 4-day honeymoon in San Diego can cost about $2500 for a semi-luxurious stay. But there are also plenty of opportunities to upgrade your experience. One way is by staying at the Lodge at Torrey Pines. This accommodation is a gorgeous 5-star hotel with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Thus, if you’re interested in a dreamy honeymoon in San Diego, you can fly directly into the San Diego International Airport. It’s easy to get to from anywhere in the United States. ~ Kristin, Global Travel Escapades

24. Santa Fe, New Mexico

Head to Santa Fe, New Mexico, for a unique US honeymoon destination. The country’s oldest state capital has all the charm of a quaint small town with just as many things to do as a large metropolis. The historic Santa Fe Plaza bustles with activity at the heart of the city. The adobe buildings at the perimeter house art galleries, boutiques, and some of the best restaurants in Santa Fe. From authentic New Mexican cuisine to romantic dinners to a James Beard Award winner, foodies will be in heaven.

Santa Fe is the self-proclaimed “Margarita Capital of the World.” They’ve designed a margarita trail to prove it, so you don’t miss the tastiest sips. Personally, my favorites are at the Coyote Cafe’s rooftop bar. If you find chocolate more appealing than margaritas, there’s a trail for that, too. Santa Fe has thought of everything!

Additionally, art-loving honeymooners will also love Santa Fe. It houses world-class museums like the Georgia O’Keefe Museum and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. Canyon Road also boasts a half-mile stretch to stroll and admire the works of local artists. Anchor your stay in the historic district so you can walk to most of the sites. La Fonda on the Plaza or a VRBO are perfect for newlyweds. If you need to get in the car, make it for a hot air balloon ride in Albuquerque, just a half hour away. ~ Denise Macuk, Chef Denise

25. Mammoth Lakes, California

Mammoth Lakes is at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California and is the perfect honeymoon destination for an adventurous couple. There are tons of outdoor activities to enjoy, all with a jaw-dropping backdrop. If you’re into skiing or snowboarding, there are several world-class ski resorts in the area, including Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain.

Plus, thanks to the Sierras’ soaring elevation, Mammoth Lakes enjoys one of the longest ski seasons in the country, usually running from November through June. The Village Lodge is a cozy home base while you’re in town. It’s famous for its rustic vibes and steaming hot tubs to cozy up in as an apres-ski treat.

If you come during the summer, there are countless hiking trails in the nearby Inyo National Forest. You will also find the iconic granite cliffs of Yosemite National Park just a short drive away. Whether you’re skiing or hiking, you’ll need a chance to relax those muscles afterward. So take a soak in the stunning hot springs in Mammoth Lakes. If you want to make your visit to the springs even more romantic, set an early wake-up call and head there for sunrise. You’ll almost certainly have the place to yourself, and you’ll get to see the alpine glow on the Sierras.

Mammoth does have its own teeny airport. However, it’s more likely to be affordable to fly into one of the larger airports within a five-hour radius. Fly into Las Vegas or Los Angeles, and road trip to Mammoth Lakes. The area is the outdoor playground for celebrities and other wealthy visitors, so accommodations, ski tickets, and food are on the pricey side.

If you’re traveling on a budget, your best bet will be visiting during the summer. The demand is lower, and most outdoor activities, like hiking or visiting hot springs, are free or extremely low cost. ~ Jessica Schmit, Uprooted Traveler (photo below)

26. Grand Canyon, Arizona

The Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic and best places to honeymoon in the US. And while this stunning red rock canyon extends into Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado, most people visit the South Rim in Arizona since it is home to romantic Grand Canyon viewpoints like Yavapai Point, Grandview Point, and Yaki Point.

To visit, fly via American Airlines to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG). It’s a small airport, about 90ish miles from the South Rim. Rent a car and enjoy a gorgeous drive to the park. Then, grab a romantic lunch or dinner at the El Tovar Hotel. The views are epic, and the Southwestern-inspired fare is excellent. You can also join a Star Party and see the Milky Way light up the sky at the Grand Canyon South Rim Visitor Center.

However, as you make your way back along the canyon towards Las Vegas, stay at the Grand Cayon Glamping Resort. It’s about four hours from the South Rim, but we stayed here, and the staff is fantastic. Adventurous couples will absolutely love this place. It’s still under construction, but they have animals you can feed. Arrange romantic activities like ATV rides, horseback riding, helicopter tours, and Grand Canyon West Skybridge trips.

Plus, the accommodations are one of a kind. I saw a teepee-esqe tent, but we stayed in a wagon-style “tent,” which was awesome. It was so unique but still had fully functional showers and bathrooms. Just be prepared to spend around $3,896 per week per couple at this fantastic national park. ~ Meg, Fox in the Forest

Grand Canyon Trip for Two Arizona

The Grand Canyon is iconic, so why not see it on your US honeymoon trip?

27. Juneau, Alaska

Alaska provides a great place to honeymoon if you love the outdoors. Juneau, the capital, offers diverse activities that are second to none. I’ve enjoyed dog sledding on a glacier, seen humpback whales up close, and hiked the trail to Mount Roberts. Due to its location, May through September provide the best months for visitation. The Four Points by Sheraton offers reasonably priced accommodation downtown. However, you must book a year in advance as hotels fill up fast.

The Juneau International Airport, 8 miles north of Juneau, is the gateway to this capital city. Since Alaska’s tourism season is short, expect to pay high prices for bucket list tours. While we paid USD 500pp to go dog sledding, tour operators now charge USD 700+. Downtown, the must-visits include the Red Dog Saloon, where the signature drink is a ‘duck fart,’ and Tracy’s Crab Shack, to eat Alaskan King Crab. There’s nothing more romantic than sharing a bucket of mouth-watering crab legs at the end of the day.

Twelve miles north of Juneau, Mendenhall Glacier attracts visitors to see a large ice field. I’ve often seen house-sized icebergs floating on the lake in the summer. Black bears frequent the area for an easy meal if the salmon run in Steep Creek. From the visitors’ center, hike the one-mile trail to Nugget Falls. Positioned closer to the toe of Mendenhall Glacier, you’ll enjoy lovely panoramic views and the mist from a thundering cascade.

Taking the Mount Roberts Tram to the top of the mountain provides terrific views of the Gastineau Channel. You can enjoy one of Alaska’s hiking trails here with your spouse. Even in the height of summer, we found patches of snow amongst the wildflowers. ~ Karen, Forever Karen

Best Places to Honeymoon in the US – Kennebunkport, Maine

Kennebunkport is a famous coastal city in Southern Maine. If you’ve heard of it, it could be because it became known due to the Bush family (yes, the presidents!).  Goose Rocks Beach and Arundel Beach are the most popular beaches.

The pristine water, long sandy beaches, and picturesque views are an ideal place for a honeymoon. There are a lot of public attractions that couples can enjoy together. The state is a romance gateway, home to oceans, hills, quaint towns, crystal-clear lakes, lighthouses, and buzzing cities.

Being a tourist place, it has some of the best hotels. Kennebunkport Captains Collection and Cape Arundel Inn & Resort are among the few resorts that provide the best services. Their famous hotel, Hidden Pond, offers private bungalows, rustic cottages, spas, and treetop lodges for a romantic experience. For one week, it costs around $ 3000-$3500 for a couple.

Getting to Kennebunkport requires a flight to Portland International Jetport or Boston Logan International Airport. Rental cars are available from both airports to reach the town. It has the best restaurants serving fresh seafood for food enthusiasts. Nunan’s Lobster Hut serves the best lobster rolls, while Arundel Wharf has a waterfront arrangement where you can enjoy light bites.

Being a coastal city, it has uninterrupted shorelines that give access to countless beach activities. If you love the outdoors, go kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, or fishing. Basking in the sun and watching the sunset by the water are lovely ways to enjoy being outside. Cape Porpoise, the fishing village, provides a glimpse of the fishermen’s livelihoods. Walker’s Point Estate and Goat Island Lighthouse are other popular attractions. ~ Ruma, New England Cities
