You’re engaged, yay! Now that you have a ring on your finger the planning begins, which means that your busy schedule is packed with things to do. Still, taking time as a couple should be a priority. For your night in pick one of our date night ideas and consider making a cheese board complete with two fun drinks to go along with it. Feel free to skip the sake (Japanese alcohol) if you don’t drink or are under 21.
Jennifer has enjoyed her partnership with SakeOne in creating fun cocktail recipes utilizing their sake options.
Date Night Ideas
a cheese board and cocktails for two
Cheeseboard
A perfect cheeseboard – or charcuterie if you’d like to add meat – isn’t difficult to create. The goal is to have the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Pick a few favorite cheeses with varying degrees of texture, and add nuts, crackers, and a sweet drizzle.
Sake Spiked Drizzle
Ingredients
- 2 oz honey
- 2 oz raspberry jam
- 2 oz G Fifty sake
Method
Combine the ingredients and place in a tiny pitcher or drizzle straight onto your cheese plate. Yum!
When it comes to beverages, think of them as desserts. These two original handcrafted cocktails are sweet and fun to drink. I love date night ideas like this!
Raspberry Lemonade Refresher
Ingredients (makes one refresher)
- ¼ cup frozen raspberries
- 1/8 cup frozen lemonade mix
- 1 ounce G Fifty sake
- 3 ice cubes
Method
Use a blender and combine all ingredients. Pour into a glass and garnish with a berry and lemon rind. Drink and enjoy!
Sak-olate Martini
Ingredients (makes one martini)
- 1 package hot chocolate mix (reserve 2 tablespoons aside)
- 1 ounce milk or half and half
- 2 ounces G Fifty sake
Method
Stir milk and hot chocolate mix together. Gently add sake. Prepare your serving glass by gently wetting the rim and rolling it in the cocoa mix. Pour the sake mixture into a glass, serve, and enjoy.
