There’s just something about being surrounded by trees. Call it a magical woodland or even an enchanted forest, but having a wedding in the woods is simply lovely. Take cues from nature and get married against a lush backdrop. There’s stunning inspiration headed your way!
Sweet Wedding in the Woods
After the hand 2020 has dealt couples, many are choosing to plan micro-weddings. And having a small forest wedding can be so beautiful! When you’re in a pinch and lack a venue, having a wedding in the woods is perfect.
Annie and Carlton had both weather and COVID alter their plans. Their timeline was short, but they had to be flexible on the day of their wedding.
Leftover tropical moisture from Hurricane Sally forced them to move their wedding from 4 pm one evening to 11am the following day.
Family Touches Make for a Truly Sweet Day
Annie’s grandparents’ house served as a place to get ready for their small forest wedding in a clearing on the family property. Mismatched chairs and salvaged church pews added to the woodland vibes.
A pastel bridal bouquet featured Annie’s grandmother’s brooch as a memento. Although there were only fifteen people in attendance, everyone had their role.
The bride’s sister performed the ceremony, and her aunt played the music. Children of the bride served as attendants and also sweetly helped the couple get ready for their day.
When you look at this wedding in the woods, you can see the love and feel the heart of it. Sometimes simple and understated can be beautiful and meaningful in so many ways.
Enjoy a peek into Annie and Carlton’s wedding day. Despite a change of plans, their day was filled with emotion, beauty, and love.
