Having an engagement session at your alma mater is always a smart idea – especially with a campus as lovely as that of Virginia Tech. Both Alex and Doug attended the school, which is also where they met. Doug was on leave from the US Army, so photographer Kaytlin Lane had just a few days to squeeze in this VA Tech e-session before Doug deployed again.

Here are a few of my favorite things about this session:

• Ok, this has nothing to do with anything but genetics, but I love Alex’s hair – both in color and style. So lovely!
• The combination of a smartly styled, yet solid colored dress paired with a statement necklace is just so perfect and stunning.
• Take note of the fact that they kept their more formal looking attire for the campus buildings and then dressed more casually for photos in the park (with a view).
