Virginia is full of lovely estates and homes, and I adore it when one is turned into a stunning venue. With light and airy colors and fun details, Maegan and Jonathan had a lovely manor wedding.
A bit more about this lovely manor wedding…
Truly I can say that I never think of Maegan without thinking Jonathan and never think Jonathan without thinking of Maegan. That’s because when I think about these two, I think of them as whole. Which, I am sure most do. I think of how perfectly they compliment one another and how kindly they treat each other. It’s a true privilege to have watched them grow into this now, MARRIED couple that they are today. I mean, guys, they are literally the definition of that unconditional sweet and kind type of love.
When and where did you both meet?
We’ve known each other forever basically but we officially began being friends in High School (Halifax County High School) when we would swap books and things blossomed from there. Reading and books have played a part in our relationship all along!
When did you know he was the one and vice versa?
Maegan: I think I really knew Jon was the one when I had a really rough semester of college and he sat up all night with me when I couldn’t sleep and we watched Dexter and ate ice cream. Not just anyone would do that sort of thing for you. Jonathan: I realized I wanted to marry Maegan my freshman year of college. I was in Williamsburg while Maegan was back home finishing her last year of high school. Long distance relationships are hard, but we made it through and were stronger for it. I had to spend a year living away from Maegan, and while I don’t regret it, I’m going to do my best to not let it happen again. I’m much happier with Maegan, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.
What’s the one thing you both love each other the most for?
Maegan: One thing I love about Jon is that he always believes in me and encourages me. I also love that is he open-minded, adventurous, and challenges us both to learn and grow together. Jonathan: One thing I love about Maegan is her caring nature. She is always there when the people she loves need her. When my mother was sick and eventually passed, Maegan was by my side every step of the way. She helped me grieve, and she helped me move forward. It was a difficult time for me, but I am glad and grateful Maegan was there to share the pain with me. It’s easy to love someone when you know that no matter what happens, you can find comfort in her arms.
How did he propose?
We had a romantic day at several vineyards in the Richmond area, and at the last stop, Jon had made a special book which held our love story and had the beautiful ring on the last page. We came back home and celebrated with our family and friends at our favorite local restaurant.
