Going on a honeymoon is so exciting for the newly married couple. With all the stress of planning a wedding and drama and nerves that can go with it, the honeymoon is the opportunity for you both as a couple to relax and enjoy some time together.
But aside from all the lovey-dovey stuff you might be doing on your honeymoon, your travels present the perfect chance to do some fun and thrilling activities. Here are some romantic honeymoon activities you could consider adding to your itinerary.
1. Schedule a romantic couples’ massage.
A honeymoon is a perfect time to relax with your new husband or wife. It is a time to recharge the batteries after what may have been a very busy time leading up to the big day.
So relaxation could be a huge priority. Additionally, a couples massage could be one way to really unwind and relax tired muscles. You may not realize how stressed you are.
2. Participate in a thrilling excursion.
Are you both thrill-seekers? Do you like exploring your adventurous side? Look no further than trying out something like tandem paragliding or parasailing. It’s is a great way to enjoy some of the beautiful scenery of your chosen location from the air.
These options also provide fun in the ocean. As a result, some of the best honeymoon activities include fantastic ways to get that adrenaline pumping.
3. Enjoy water sports as fun honeymoon activities.
If you are both thrill-seekers but don’t want to do something dangerous, then take the adrenaline-fuelled sports to a different level. Try out some other water sports as there are plenty of options to consider.
You may like the idea of a banana boat bouncing along the waves. Another option is to try jet skiing or water skiing along the ocean. You and your new spouse can enjoy the speed element of a boat.
Schedule a time to sail off to a private cove where you can enjoy a bit of scuba diving and swim in bright blue waters. If you’re by the water, the options are almost endless for fun honeymoon activities.
4. Take a sightseeing trip.
Maybe you are both into your history, or possibly you like to take in some of the culture and local experiences your destination offers. Sightseeing is a great way to take in some of the beautiful surroundings. Consequently, there are two ways you can go about it.
You can venture on your own where you can take things at your own pace. Another option is to go on an organized event where you get a tour guide if you crave something more structured. The choice is yours.
5. Relax during a spa day.
Let’s face it. After the height of the wedding day, it is time to relax. While a couples massage has already been suggested, there is no reason why a day in the spa shouldn’t be the ultimate way to ignite some passion while relaxing.
Enjoy steam and sauna rooms or just relax in a jacuzzi. It sounds like heaven and is the perfect way to bond and unwind on your honeymoon.
6. Stroll during a long walk on the beach.
Finally, why not take a romantic stroll along the beach at sunrise or sunset? Walking along the shore with the waves slowly crashing over your feet as you hold one another’s hand is one of the nicest and simplest things you can do to totally bond on a honeymoon.
Not only can you enjoy the scenery, but you can talk and get to know each other better. What a wonderful way to start out your new life together!

joannaAfter all that planning the wedding stress, I think the honeymoon should definitely have activities such as a day at the spa or a relaxing massage included in it. When I think of honeymoons, I automatically imagine a seaside destination, or an island. And I agree that taking a stroll on the beach with your new husband and wife is such a romantic thing to do.
Carol ColbornWhat a fun list. We have been married for 13 years. And we have been continuing to do a lot of these together!
ReneeThese are some great ideas, for honeymooners or celebrating an anniversary. I love couple time where you can relax and nothing does that better than a day at a spa, or a couples massage.
UmikoWhat a fun list for honeymooners! I think a massage and spa are needed most after all the tense of wedding preparations. And ending your day by strolling on the beach sounds romantic. Like all the ideas here.
Ami BhatYay…. I have done 4 of the 6 activities here on my honeymoon. Water rafting and long Beach walks for me still triggers memories. And yes lots of sightseeing too. Very practical list indeed.
MarielleWe’re not married but these do sound like great honeymoon activities. I work as a writer for wedding photographers and I know how stressful the whole wedding planning process can be both for vendors and the couple. Every couple deserves to have a moment of relaxation after their wedding even simple things like spas and walking on the beach are already perfect ways to do so!
ClariceThese are great honeymoon ideas! My husband and I went on a trip to a resort where we had so much fun doing some watersports and strolls along the beach. Couples’ massage and a day at the spa is a must too.
TamiIt’s been a LONG time since my honeymoon (married 37 years!) but not so long I don’t remember. I think the things that would be most memorable would be sightseeing together and taking long walks together. At least those are the things we still enjoy doing together when we travel!
